Queensland Liveability

Community research and consultation on future priorities for QLD

Challenge

The Queensland Department of the Premier and Cabinet is the lead agency of Government in the State – providing a broad range of services to the Cabinet, Government Ministers, agencies and the community. As the lead agency in the Queensland Public Service, they work closely with all other agencies to drive the Government’s key strategies and plans from conception through to implementation. As part of its remit to improve Queensland’s liveability, we were contracted to conduct a range of community consultation and engagement exercises.

Strategy

We undertook a series of consultation and engagement initiatives including deliberative forums and  community discussion groups with the aim of identifying investment priorities for the Queensland Government over coming years – as defined by community members.

Impact

The findings from the state-wide consultation have been used to better understand what Queenslanders want and need from Government from an investment and development perspective and form a foundation from which positive change can be achieved across a range of departments and priority areas.
